Police arrest school principal over charges of sexual assault
The police say that 25 videos related to the alleged sexual assault and misconduct have been recovered from the office of the suspect.
Karachi: The police on Monday arrested principal of a private school in the Gulshan-e-Hadeed area over charges of sexual assault.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muneer Hassan Sardar said that 25 videos related to alleged misconduct and sexual assault were recovered during a search of the suspect's office.
According to the reports, the accused had allegedly been involved luring women with promises of employment and then subjecting them to sexual assault, subsequently blackmailing them by showing recorded footage of the assaults.
The reports suggested that at least five women who became his victim were identified, and further information would be collected from them.
In response to the incident, Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh Raffat Mukhtar took notice and requested a detailed report from SSP Muneer Hassan Sardar.
He emphasized the importance of an impartial and transparent investigation to reach a conclusive resolution.
Sindh Education Minister Rana Hussain established a four-member inquiry committee led by Deputy Director Qurban Bhutto, with Assistant Director Mamtaaz Kambrani, Zaid Magsi, and Javed Qazi as members.
The committee's task is to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the school, gather information, and take appropriate actions based on their findings and recommendations.
