Karachi: Pakistan Defense and Martyrs Day is being celebrated today (Wednesday) with national enthusiasm and in this regard, a solemn ceremony of changing of the guards was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi.
Air Officer Commanding Air Marshal Ghazanfar Latif of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Asghar Khan Academy is the chief guest of the changing of guards’ ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi.
Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif laid a wreath at the Quaid's mausoleum on this occasion, recited Fatiha and wrote his comments in the guest book.
57 cadets, including 07 women, are participating in the changing of the guards ceremony. While during the ceremony, the cadets of PAF took over the duties of the guards at Mazar-e-Quaid.
On the other hand, the President of Pakistan, Caretaker Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Services Chief and the Armed Forces of Pakistan paid tribute to the martyrs and their families on Defense Day.
Defense and Martyrs Day of Pakistan is being celebrated with national enthusiasm throughout the country. The Day is a bright chapter in the national history of Pakistan. On this day, the forces of Pakistan created a new history of courage and bravery by defeating the eternal enemy India.
Defense and Martyrs Day is celebrated on September 06 to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and their families.
58 years ago today, our armed forces and the entire Pakistani nation thwarted the nefarious intentions of the enemy by showing extraordinary courage and unparalleled spirit.
