Bank manager, staff members flee abroad with Rs1 billion
Most of the account holders handed over their millions of rupees to the area manager for the sake of profit.
Faisalabad: The area manager of a private bank in Madinah town, Faisalabad fled abroad with more than one billion rupees of account holders. Following the complaints, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the bank team started investigating the matter.
According to FIA, Raja Amir Kayani, the area manager of a bank located in Madina Town area and the son-in-law of a political figure, along with the staff of eight bank branches, obtained money by luring more than 500 account holders to give more profit on less money.
They gave them fake receipts. Since five months, Area Manager Raja Amir and his staff have been luring more than five hundred account holders with profit.
Staff members of various branches, including the area manager, fled abroad with more than one billion rupees, after which concern was expressed by the account holders.
While the affected account holders sent requests to the officers including the FIA who took custody of the records of private bank located on Susan Road and started investigating the matter.
