US president engages Modi on human rights, press freedom issues
The US President highlighted the importance of civil society and independent journalism.
Vietnam: The 46th US President Joe Biden highlighted the points he raised in the meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While speaking in a press conference the President stated that he raised the issue of human rights and press freedom in his meeting with PM Narendra Modi.
He added that he spoke with PM Modi about the importance of respecting human rights on the sidelines of the second day of the G20 summit in New Delhi.
The US President stated that I highlighted the importance of civil society and independent journalism's role in building a strong and prosperous country.
