Lahore: The government has decided to change the board of directors of power distribution companies across the country, reportedly.
According to media reports, it has been decided by Ministry of Energy to include technical, qualified and non-political persons in the power companies.
It is reported that new boards of distribution companies and National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) will be formed in this regard.
In the past, the boards of power distribution companies included political and popular figures, while most of the board members belonged to non-technical and political backgrounds.
It should be noted that in order to overcome the electricity crisis in the country, a large-scale operation against electricity theft is underway.
In recent days, Secretary Power Division Rashid Langriyal disclosed that during the operation against electricity theft, 80 million units of electricity theft have been detected.
