Lahore: Sugar is being sold at Rs162 rupees per kg after a decrease of 6 rupees in the wholesale market of Lahore.
According to the sugar dealers, the price is likely to decrease further in the coming days.
On the other hand, sugar is being sold at Rs175 to Rs180 rupees per kg in the retail shops.
The shopkeepers are stiffed, stating that they purchased sugar at a high price how can they sell sugar at cheap prices immediately?
While sugar prices have decreased in Quetta as well.
The price of sugar in Quetta has decreased by Rs45 per kg in a week, which has brought the price of sugar to Rs 180 per kg.
According to market sources, after the operation against sugar hoarders, the price of sugar in the city is continuously decreasing.
Even today, the price of sugar per kg has recorded a further decrease of Rs10 and the price per kg in the city has decreased from Rs190 to Rs180.
Commissioner Quetta Hamza Shafaqat says that the district administration took action against the sugar hoarders in Quetta.
The administrators sealed 9 warehouses and confiscated 1214 tons of sugar, after which the rate of sugar in Quetta decreased from 220 rupees to 160 rupees.
