Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations by initiating cultural and literary exchange programs.
The understanding came during a meeting between Caretaker Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah and a high level Turkiye delegation led by their Ambassador to Pakistan Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest focusing on bilateral relations came under discussion.
Federal Minister Jamal Shah said: “The fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkiye are an unprecedented manifestation of brotherhood and love, which cannot be compared”.
Jamal Shah stated that Pakistan values and respect the evergreen relationship with Turkiye as the two brotherly countries always supported each other in every need of the hour.
The Minister desired to further strengthen cooperation in literary, cultural, Cinemas, film, tourism and other matters of mutual interest so that the effectiveness and recognition of this relationship may become deeper and stronger.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Turkiye, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Pacaci said that Turkiye attached great value to its relations with Pakistan.
The ambassador said: “There is a huge potential for further bolstering collaboration in the culture and literary fields between the two brotherly nations”.
He added that earlier on October 29, 2023 Turkiye Embassy will organize two-day celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Turkish Republic in Islamabad.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet invited the minister to join in celebrating a monumental milestone in Turkiye's history, the centennial of the establishment of Republic of Turkiye.
In response, the Minister Jamal Shah assured full cooperation of the National Heritage and Culture Division in organizing two-day celebrations 100th anniversary of Turkish Republic.
He also invited the Turkish Ambassador and Dr. Halil Toker, Yunus Emre Culture Center to attend a National conference being organized by National Heritage and Culture Division and its attached departments for the promotion folk literary heritage.
