International Cricket Council (ICC) declared Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam as the player of the month.


Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has awarded the Pakistan cricket team's captain, Babar Azam, the title of Player of the Month for his outstanding performance in August.
This marks the third time that Babar Azam has been honored as the Player of the Month, showcasing his consistent excellence in the game.
Babar Azam's recognition for the Player of the Month award is based on his remarkable performances in August.
Last month, the nominations for the Player of the Month award included Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, and all-rounder Shadab Khan. They were competing for the prestigious title.
Additionally, West Indies' Nicholas Pooran was also nominated by the ICC for the Player of the Month award.
In response to receiving this accolade, Babar Azam expressed his joy and stated, "I am delighted to be named ICC Player of the Month.
Last month has been extraordinary for our team, and we displayed exceptional performances."
Babar Azam went on to highlight his satisfaction in playing in front of the home crowd during the Asia Cup matches, emphasizing the extended duration of the tournament in Pakistan.
He further added, "I crafted my second century in front of Multan's crowd, which doubled my happiness."
With more than 150 runs to his name in the Asia Cup, Babar Azam's second century played a pivotal role in thrilling the crowds and solidifying his reputation as a standout performer in the world of cricket.
