SBP Governor Jameel Ahmed will chair the meeting during which the interest rate for the upcoming two weeks will be decided.
According to the announcement, the State Bank has scheduled a meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) for Thursday, September 14. Before deciding on the country's monetary policy.
The committee will evaluate the overall financial position, economic indicators, and the performance of several domestic and international sectors during this meeting.
The base interest rate is now at 22%. Using a press release, the policy rate will be made public.
A potential interest rate increase is expected by the market. Interest rates are probably going to trend higher due to ongoing inflation and a slight appreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
