Lower Dir: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced protest and sit-in against inflation and high-power bills on Tuesday.
JI Emir Sirajul Haq announced during a press conference in Tamergarh that on September 18, a sit-in protest against high electricity costs and inflation will be held in front of the KP Governor House and last till an unspecified time.
Sirajul Haq stated that they will shortly declare the next course of action if the IPPs contracts were not changed and inflation was not brought under control.
He forewarned that the wheel jam strike would be the next move.
The JI leader claimed that the rulers should learn from the September 2 strike's success and that if the short cabinet can stop smuggling, it should also act to stop inflation.
He asserted that the Election Commission is required by the Constitution to ensure that general elections are held within ninety days.
The JI emir concluded that all political parties should quickly agree to organize general elections on the same day.
