PPP invites Latif Khosa, Aitzaz Ahsan to attend CEC meeting
The sources say that the both leaders have been invited for the meeting due to take place on September 14 in Lahore.
Lahore: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday extended invitations to Latif Khosa and Aitaz Ahsan to attend the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting scheduled for September 14 in Lahore.
The sources privy to the development said both leaders were also invited to the previous CEC meeting in Karachi..
A senior PPP official stated that Mr. Khosa and Mr. Ahsan were invited to the upcoming CEC meeting on September 14.
The sources familiar with the situation revealed that Mr. Khosa, who had previously received a show-cause notice for expressing support for the incarcerated PTI chairman, is likely to attend the meeting via video link.
On the other hand, Aitzaz Ahsan, who attended the party's previous CEC meeting on August 25, did not make yet made a decision regarding the Lahore CEC gathering.
In the meantime, former President Asif Ali Zardari and ex-Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are set to arrive in Lahore today to prepare the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) for the upcoming general elections.
Both PPP leaders will lead a meeting of the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 PM at Bilawal House.
The agenda for the Lahore meeting will encompass discussions on elections and the party's positioning in central Punjab.
