Erica Robin crowned 'Miss Universe Pakistan' without govt nomination: Information Minister
I want to highlight the beauty of Pakistan, Erica Robin.

Karachi: Erica Robin, a 24-year-old professional model from Karachi, was crowned as this year's Miss Universe Pakistan.
The announcement came as a surprise since no official government nomination was made for the title, according to the Information Minister.
The competition featured five finalists, including Hira Inam from Lahore, Jessica Wilson from Rawalpindi, Malika Alvi from Pennsylvania, USA, and Sabrina Wasim from Punjab, alongside Erica Robin.
Erica Robin's victory marks the first time a Pakistani beauty queen will represent the nation at the world-renowned 'Miss Universe' pageant, scheduled to take place in El Salvador in November.
Expressing her gratitude and pride, Miss Universe Pakistan 2023, Erica Robin, stated, "It is an honor for me to become the first Miss Universe of Pakistan. We have a beautiful culture, and Pakistani people are very generous, kind, and hospitable. I would like to invite everyone to visit my country and try the most amazing Pakistani cuisine."
Participants in the competition were evaluated based on three key segments, which included a swimsuit round, an evening gown round, and an interview.
Josh Ugan, the Director of Miss Universe Pakistan, described the newly crowned queen as someone "full of passion, courage, and endowed with the pursuit of love, brotherhood, and kindness."
In a recent interview, Erica Robin shed light on the modeling industry in Pakistan, expressing her disappointment that models are often underappreciated.
She emphasized that modeling is a demanding profession that requires long hours of work, similar to other fields.
However, Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, clarified that the government had not officially nominated any candidate to represent Pakistan in the Miss Universe pageant.
In a statement on social media, he emphasized that state and government institutions are responsible for representing Pakistan, and no non-governmental entity or individual can claim to do so on behalf of the government.
