Rawalpindi: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench Tuesday sought a report on the detention of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

According to details, Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench heard the petition against Sheikh Rashid's detention, during which the former minister’s lawyer, Advocate Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan, appeared in the court.

During the hearing, the court called for a report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO), Central Police Office (CPO), Inspector General (IG) Punjab and the federal government, ordering that the parties should submit the report by September 22 regarding Sheikh Rashid's detention.

It is pertinent to note that a few days ago, Punjab Police arrested Sheikh Rashid Ahmed from a private housing society in Rawalpindi and transferred him to an unknown location.

Sheikh Rashid's nephew Sheikh Shakir and an employee Imran were also detained.
