Sydney: Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka, who is currently facing charges of sexual assault in Australia, was seen breaking down in an Australian court during a recent hearing.
Australian media reported that Danushka Gunathilaka became visibly emotional when questioned by the police about the rape allegations.
Tears welled up in his eyes, and he had to use tissues to wipe them away as he found it challenging to respond to the police inquiries.
According to media sources, Danushka Gunathilaka has raised concerns about the alleged victim's behavior in the case.
It's worth noting that Danushka Gunathilaka is currently embroiled in a legal battle over rape charges in Australia, with his case being heard in a Sydney lower court.
The Sri Lankan cricketer was arrested on November 6, 2022, and despite being part of Sri Lanka's T20 World Cup squad, he was not permitted to return home with the team.
