Karachi: The Sindh Home Department has implemented a ban on double riding on motorcycles in various cities across the province, including Karachi.
This decision comes in light of the observance of a silent mourning day on the 8th of Rabi-ul-Awwal and processions on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, for which an official notification has been issued.
The Sindh government has also declared a public holiday on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal in observance of these events.
As per the notification, double riding will not be allowed in the following cities on the specified dates:
- Karachi
- Hyderabad
- Dadu
- Nawab Shah
- Khairpur
- Sukkur
- Ghotki
- Larkana
In Karachi, the ban on double riding is as follows:
- East District: 8th, 11th, and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal
- Central District: 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal
- Kemari, City, and South: 7th, 8th, 11th, and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal
