Thus, an increase of 14.5% has been recorded in the export of readymade garments on annual basis.


Karachi: The exports of ready-made garments have recorded increase of 14.5% on year-on-year basis during August.
According to the statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, there has been a 14.5% increase in the exports of ready-made garments during August 2023 as compared to August 2022.
The data released show that earlier in August 2022, ready-made garments worth 72.9 billion rupees were exported. While the volume of exports during August 2023 was 83.4 billion rupees.
Thus, an increase of 14.5% has been recorded in the export of readymade garments on annual basis.
On the other hand, exports of cotton garments have recorded a growth of 14% on month-on-month basis during August. According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the export of cotton garments in August earned the country 160 million dollars in foreign exchange, which is 14% more than July. Exports of cotton garments were recorded at $141 million in July.
