Matter of shame that Pakistan could not move out of FATF grey list: Bilawal
Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that it was a matter of shame that Pakistan along with the backward countries like Cambodia, Ghana and Zimbabwe could not move out of the grey list of Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PPP leader severely criticized the poor economic policies of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) saying that his party devised an effective strategy to get out of the grey list.
“PPP government had given Pakistan the status of GSP Plus from the European Union (EU),” he said.
Criticizing PM for making false allegations of money laundering and corruption against opposition leader, Bilawal said that Imran Khan has brought the country to the brink of being blacklisted.
“Imran Khan's campaign against corruption is a complete fraud. Mafia patron Imran Khan's false slogan of accountability has been exposed and people will not fall into this trap anymore,” he said.
The PPP chairperson further stated that people today are being deprived of basic necessities adding that interacting with the public on telephone won’t get the country out of tsunami of inflation.
“How much money of alleged corruption have they deposited in the national treasury in 997 days of their government?” asked Bilawal.
Bilawal said that PPP continues to demand implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) but PTI did not comply resulting in negative impacts on the economy.
