Officials were altering fraudulent documents, which lacked fingerprints or photographs, resulting in disciplinary actions against them: NADRA chairman.


Islamabad: In a startling revelation, the Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Lt. Gen. Munirafsar, has disclosed the inclusion of Afghan nationals within a counterfeit family tree.
During a briefing to the Senate Interior Committee, Lt. Gen. Munirafsar revealed that NADRA had initiated action against 84 officials involved in the issuance of fraudulent identity cards to Afghan individuals.
He went on to explain that these officials had been manipulating documents by creating counterfeit records devoid of fingerprints or photographs.
These practices led to disciplinary actions being taken against the said officials.
Chairman NADRA emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the identity registration system.
