A viral chest infection has swept through the squad, affecting at least four to five players.
Sources within the team have revealed that several players developed a severe chest infection, resulting in high fevers.
Notably, leg-spinner Osama Mir was one of the hardest hit, battling illness for five days and having to undergo a quarantine period.
Fortunately, all tests conducted on Osama Mir, including those for COVID-19 and dengue, came back negative.
Despite the initial setback, there is positive news regarding Osama Mir's recovery.
Sources indicate that he is feeling better and is once again available for selection.
Meanwhile, another key player, Shaheen Shah Afridi, also fell victim to a viral bacterial infection.
Shaheen was promptly taken to a hospital where he received intravenous antibiotics.
The team's medical staff is also closely monitoring the health of Abdullah Shafiq, who has developed a severe high fever.
Doctors are conducting thorough examinations to determine the best course of treatment.
Additionally, Zaman Khan is reported to be suffering from a viral infection, further adding to the team's concerns.
The team's Media Manager confirmed the illness among players, revealing that the scheduled practice session for today had to be canceled due to the health issues affecting several national team members.
While the situation is certainly challenging, the team is focused on the recovery of its affected players and is likely to make necessary adjustments to ensure their well-being.
