Chennai: In the wake of Pakistan's defeat against Afghanistan, Iftikhar Ahmed, a key all-rounder in the Pakistan cricket team, expressed determination to win all their remaining matches in the World Cup and secure a spot in the top four.

After the recent loss to Afghanistan, Iftikhar Ahmed addressed the media and pointed out that their team's performance was not up to par, especially in their bowling and spin department.

He emphasized that Pakistan's bowling lineup is ranked as one of the world's best but has not met the team's expectations during this tournament.

Despite these challenges, he remained confident that the team had the capability to bounce back and regain their winning form.

Iftikhar acknowledged that in the world of cricket, every team experiences ups and downs, and the current situation is a downturn for Pakistan.

However, he reassured me that the team is not giving up and is determined to put in their best effort to recover from this phase.

The all-rounder emphasized that team morale can take a hit when the batting performance is not optimal.

He credited Afghanistan for playing well in their match and acknowledged that they had a game plan but were unable to execute it effectively.

He also mentioned that the team's captain, Babar Azam, is open to making changes and adjustments as needed.

The decision was made for only the bowlers to provide advice to other bowlers during the game.

Iftikhar Ahmed noted that Afghanistan bowled fewer bad deliveries compared to Pakistan and highlighted that Pakistan's bowlers were inconsistent and delivered several bad balls, leading to increased pressure on the team.

He acknowledged his commitment to fielding but also admitted to making mistakes.

In international cricket, especially during a high-profile event like the World Cup, players are expected to perform well in all aspects of the game, and Iftikhar stressed that it was crucial for the team to improve in all three key areas: batting, bowling, and fielding.
