SC hears Faizabad sit-in review case
The Chief Justice replied that Absar Alam has made serious allegations against the employee of the Ministry of Defense.
Islamabad: The hearing of Faizabad dharna review case is underway in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday.
Accordinng to details, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa is hearing the case along with Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Athar Minullah.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez inquired about Absar Alam. Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan came to the rostrum and informed that Absar Alam is on the way.
The Chief Justice replied that Absar Alam has made serious allegations against the employee of the Ministry of Defense in his statement.
CJP Qazi Faez asked the Attorney General whether he wanted to withdraw the revision petition even after these allegations.
The Attorney General replied: “We have seen the allegations made by Absar Alam, we have formed a fact-finding committee”.
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa asked about the position of Absar Alam at the time of the Faizabad sit-in.
The Attorney General replied that he was the Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) at the time of the Faizabad sit-in.
Chief Justice instructed the Attorney General that it would be better to first read the instructions given in the Faizabad dharna notice.
