The court has granted interim bail to Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq till November 18.


Rawalpindi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi Friday granted interim bail to Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq in four cases of May 9.
According to details, Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq appeared before Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ijaz Asif.
During the hearing, the lawyer informed the court that Inspector General (IG) Punjab has written that there is no case against Sheikh Rashid and he has been named in 13 cases of May 09.
Judge Malik Ejaz Asif remarked Mr. Sheikh seems like your solitude has backfired on you. To which Sheikh replied: “No case was registered against me, all the cases have been filed after by solitude.
The court has granted interim bail to Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq till November 18.
Besides, the court also directed to merge the petitions of Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq's cases.
