Karachi: PML-N senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique announced on Sunday their intention to propose constitutional amendments, requiring a two-thirds majority.

Saad Rafique emphasized that this proposal was a key focus of their discussions with the MQM-P during a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club.

Saad Rafique clarified that the exclusion of anyone (minus formula) from politics was not part of their agenda. He disclosed their recent visits to Pir Pagara, the PML-F chief, and the JUI-F, with plans to meet MQM-P leadership later in the day.

It was decided that PML-N would jointly contest the upcoming elections with MQM-P and JUI-F, and talks were underway with other political parties. Rafique explained that electoral cooperation would involve seat adjustment, and each party would participate with its own election symbol.

Expressing regret over Karachi's intentional neglect, Rafique pledged efforts to govern the country in accordance with the constitution. Regarding the future course of action after the anticipated polls, he shared optimism.

During the press conference, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a member of the visiting PML-N team, mentioned that the timing of former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's arrival in Karachi would be determined after their ongoing visit.
