New York: Former United States President Donald Trump's elder sister Marianne Berry has been passed away.

Donald Trump Jr., the son of former US President Trump, confirmed the death of his 86-year-old paternal aunt and expressed his feelings of closeness to her.

According to media reports, 86-year-old Marianne Berry was found dead in her residence in Manhattan, New York.

New York police stated they found an 86-year-old woman unconscious in the bathroom of a Fifth Avenue apartment, who had since died.

The Police confirmed that Marianne died at 4:30am between Monday and Tuesday night.

According to media reports, Marianne Berry was a retired federal judge who served from 1983 to 2019. At the time of her retirement in 2019, she was a senior judge on the Third US Circuit Court of Appeals, a court below the Supreme Court.

Prior to her appointment as a judge, she also served as US Attorney in 1974 and was nominated by former President Ronald Reagan to a federal court in New Jersey.

Earlier in 2020, former President Trump's younger brother Robert Trump died at the age of 71, while his elder brother Fred Trump Jr. died of a heart attack at the age of 42.
