Lahore again tops in air pollution
The average Air Quality Index (AQI) of Lahore city has been recorded at 397.
Lahore: The smog could not be controlled in the provincial capital as Lahore has once again left behind the cities of the world in air pollution.
According to details, it has become difficult to breathe due to smog. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) of Lahore city has been recorded as 397, AQI in Amir Town was 444 and 394 in the vicinity of Mall Road.
Weather forecasters stated that there is no chance of rain in the city during the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature in Lahore could go up to 13 and maximum 26 degrees Celsius.
Due to the increase in air pollution, citizens are suffering from different diseases for which medical experts recommend that everyone should avoid unnecessary travel and ensure the use of face masks.
It is pertinent to note that in view of the increasing smog, yesterday the Supreme Court ordered work from home for two days in a week.
All schools and colleges were closed on Saturday while the court has also issued orders to replace Director General (DG) Environment.
