Former Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub Khan passes away
The funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:00 pm at Village Rehana, District Haripur.
Lahore: Former National Assembly speaker and ex-Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub Khan, aged 86, passed away on Friday following a brief illness.
The sad news was confirmed by his son, Omar Ayub Khan, who serves as the Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and is a former federal minister.
The funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:00 pm at Village Rehana, District Haripur.
Gohar Ayub Khan, the son of former president and field marshal Ayub Khan, played a significant role in supporting his father's presidential rule after the 1965 presidential election. He was a multifaceted individual, serving as a politician, business oligarch, retired army officer, and conservative figure of the Pakistan Muslim League. Besides it, he held ministerial positions during the tenure of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
