Hearing against PTI's new intra-party elections today
Akbar S. Babar, founding member of PTI, challenged the intra-party elections in the Election Commission and called the whole process suspicious.
Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hear the petitions filed against the new intra-party elections of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to the details, 11 petitioners including Akbar S. Babar, Tahir Nawaz, Noreen Farooq and others had filed petitions related to annulment of intra-party elections.
It is pertinent to note that following the order of the Election Commission, PTI held intra-party elections on December 3, in which Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was elected unopposed as the Chairman while Umar Ayub was elected as the General Secretary.
Apart from this, Yasmin Rashid was elected as the President of Punjab and Ali Amin Gandapur as the President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Akbar S. Babar, founding member of PTI, challenged the intra-party elections in the Election Commission and called the whole process suspicious.
On the other hand, yesterday former Chairman PTI Imran Khan challenged the Election Commission's decision to hold intra-party elections again in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
