Justice Naqvi’s pleas against show-cause notice fixed for hearing on Dec 15
A SC three-member bench comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Aminuddin Khan presiding will take up the pleas.

Islamabad: The constitutional petitions filed by Supreme Court Judge Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi challenging the show cause notice issued to him by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) are set to be heard on December 15.
A SC three-member bench comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Aminuddin Khan presiding will take up the pleas.
Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi officially contested the SJC inquiry on November 20, characterizing it as an affront to the judiciary. He asserted that the SJC sent notices for further proceedings without addressing the raised objections, deeming the SJC's October 27 press release a violation of fundamental rights.
In his plea to the Supreme Court, Justice Mazahar Naqvi earnestly implored the issuance of an order against the SJC inquiry initiated against him.
The genesis of the matter lies in a complaint filed against Supreme Court Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi with the Supreme Judicial Council.
Lodged by Mian Dawood Advocate, the complaint levels accusations of misconduct, illegal assets, and the accumulation of wealth through proxies. The complainant fervently appeals to the judicial council for the removal of Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi from the esteemed office of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
