Badin: Voting for the by-election for Sindh Assembly constituency PS-70 Matli (Badin II) will be held today.

According to details, the polling that started at 8:00 am would continue without any break to 5:00 pm.
A total of six candidates are in the run for by-polls; however, a tough competition is anticipated between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Haji Muhammad Dada Halipota and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Gul Hassan.
All arrangements were finalized by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and police and Rangers are deployed at all 123 polling stations.
As many as 166,809 voters were registered in the constituency, including 75,222 women and 91,587 men. Of the 123 polling stations, consisting of 423 polling booths, 194 were established for women and 229 for men.
The top electoral body had directed local administration to appoint healthcare staff during by-polls in order to implement Coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
