Two injured in blast at former CJP Nisar’s residence in Lahore
Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar says they are safe and hope the suspects will be arrested soon.
Lahore: At least two security guards fell injured in a blast inside the residence of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, the police said on Wendesday.
The blast took place in the garage area of the house in Garden where former CJP Saqib Nisar had been living along with his famiy.
According to the police, the investigation is underway as some unknown assailants threw some substance inside the residence. As a result, the police said, a vehicle parked there got damaged. The guards who were deputed outside the residence also fell injured.
The police including the DIG Operations Lahore reached the spot and started operation.
The rescue workers also reached there and they provided them the first aid.
According to the rescue workers, the crackers were used at the residence which damaged the windowpanes.
The Preliminary information suggested that unidentified assailants on motorcycles threw an explosive device before fleeing the scene. The police revealed that the suspects managed to escape after carrying out the attack.
The auhorities are conducting thorough investigations into the incident to ascertain the details and motives behind the explosion.
Former Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and his family had been living in their residence in Garden Town area.
“I hope the suspects will be arrested soon,” said former CJP Nisar, confirming his and his family members’ well-being.
“Nothing could be said until the police investigation,” he added.
