Pakistan observes ‘Solidarity Day' with Palestinians
Islamabad: Pakistan is observing ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ today to strongly condemn Israeli atrocities and barbaric attacks against innocent Palestinians.
According to details, Rallies and demonstrations are being held across the country to convey the message that the entire Pakistani nation stands by their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters.
The world community through these demonstrations will be reminded of its duties to play its part for the establishment of an independent Palestine state with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
The participants of rallies are requested to follow coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Earlier today, a ceasefire came into force between Hamas and Israel to halt 11 days of fighting.
The Hamas and Israeli security cabinet agreed to Egyptian-brokered ceasefire to stop fighting which caused massive destruction on Gaza Strip.
A statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the security cabinet had “unanimously accepted the recommendations to accept an Egyptian initiative for an unconditional ceasefire.”
Meanwhile, Hamas also confirmed the ceasefire in a statement, saying it the deal will come into force at 2:00am on Friday (23:00 GMT on Thursday).
Following the announcement, thousands of Palestinians took to the streets to celebrate the ceasefire, raising flags and flashing V signs for victory. Words of praise to Allah were also broadcasted from loudspeakers of different mosques.
The latest escalation of tensions between Israel and Hamas claimed lives of at least 232 Palestinians, including 65 children.
