Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that there is an ample room in Asia for economic, trade and investment participation of all states.
While virtually speaking at the Conference on Future of Asia under the theme ‘Shaping the Post-Covid Era: Asia's Role in the Global Recovery’, PM said that Asia-pacific must not become a theatre of tensions.
The differences and dispute in Asia require Asian solutions on the basis of Asian values and interests. The Asia pacific including Indian Ocean should become a zone of peace, an area of expanding cooperation and prosperity,” he said.
Imran Khan further stated that the countries of Asia-Pacific should settle their disputes for peace, security and economic prosperity in the region.
Referring to coronavirus, PM said that pandemic badly damaged the poor and developing countries but it is essential to keep economies open for quick recovery.
“We cannot progress economically unless we resolve the disputes in the region,” he added.
PM urged the international community to take action against atrocities being committed by occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
“India will have to stop human rights violations in occupied territory and should rescind the illegal actions taken on August 5, 2019 to resume dialogue. The implementation of United Nations (UN) resolutions is the only solution to Kashmir issue,” he said.
