Israeli police have reportedly fired tear gas, stun grenades, and rubber-coated bullets in Al Aqsa Mosque at worshippers gathered to celebrate the ceasefire deal in Gaza on Friday.

The armed Israeli forces stormed the holy site in the Old City of Jerusalem shortly after the worshippers had congregated for Friday prayers. The incident came to light just hours after Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire in Gaza.
Eyewitnesses inside the compound said that after Friday prayers, many Palestinians were celebrating, distributing sweets and shouting slogans in the mosque compound to celebrate the ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli government when Israeli police stormed the venue, using stun guns, grenades and tear gas.
Israeli police opened fire to disperse the crowd, causing panic among unarmed Palestinians.
Earlier, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas appeared to be holding Friday after 11 days of deadly airstrikes pounded the Palestinian enclave.
It should be noted that in the recent escalation, Israeli strikes on Gaza have killed 232 Palestinians, including 65 children, and have wounded another 1,900, according to the Gaza health ministry of tensions between Israel and Hamas claimed lives of at least 232 Palestinians, including 65 children.
