The candidates could file pleas against decisions of the election tribunals regarding acceptance and rejection of their nomination papers for upcoming elections.


Lahore: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti on Saturday constituted a five-member larger bench, headed by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, to hear petitions against decisions of the Election Appellate Tribunals.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, Justice Faisal Zaman Khan, and Justice Jawad Hassan are the other members of the bench.
The bench will exclusively hear appeals against decisions of Election Appellate Tribunals at the principal seat of Lahore High Court.
The larger bench will start hearing of the petitions related to the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers for general elections 2024, focusing on seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies, as well as those reserved for women and non-Muslim candidates. The larger bench will commence hearings on the petitions from January 9th.
