The Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had earlier declared an extension of winter holidays for all public and private educational institutions until January 7, following Punjab's lead.
A notification from the provincial education department outlined the decision, citing the prevailing freezing temperatures as the reason for keeping schools closed until the specified date.
