Lahore: In past 24 hours, 18 more children died of pneumonia as cold intensifies in Punjab.
The health department stated that 1062 cases of pneumonia were reported in Lahore bearing the highest burden.
During the month of January, government hospitals in Lahore recorded 780 pneumonia cases, contributing to the overall total of 4900 cases in Punjab.
In an effort to protect children from pneumonia, the government has announced a ban on morning assemblies in school till January 31.
