After the opening of the border crossing, the first cargo vehicle from Afghanistan has entered Pakistan.
Nangarhar: The Pak-Afghan Torkham border crossing has been re-opened for commercial activities after ten days.
Afghan drivers have been given a deadline of March 31 for travel documents. The cargo vehicles without travel documents will be banned from entering Pakistan from April 1.
After the opening of the border crossing, the first cargo vehicle from Afghanistan has entered Pakistan.
The customs officials said that the decision to open the Torkham border was made between the Afghan Consul General in Peshawar and the Pakistani authorities.
It is pertinent to note that the federal government had decided regarding travel documents for cargo vehicles. The border was closed for trade on January 13.
