PTI asserts party website blocked ahead polls
It is to be noted that a fake web portal resembling one launched by the party, was providing fake information to voters about PTI-backed candidates.
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asserted that its party’s website was blocked within Pakistan amid to the upcoming general elections ahead on February 8, 2024. PTI also demanded an explanation from the authorities.
According to the details, the party introduced an online portal on its website, insaf.pk, along with a back-up site, pticandidates.com to cater the potential confusion among voters and to facilitate access to election-related information,
PTI has nominated its candidates as independents with several electoral symbols. The party's official X account tagged the official handles of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), interim information minister Murtaza Solangi, and interim IT minister Umar Saif.
The post inquired, “Can you explain why PTI's websites are blocked in Pakistan?” and asked the purpose to block website when people could still get symbol information from Imran Khan's Facebook page.
