Officials said exports increased by around $600 million in January on a year-on-year basis.


Islamabad: The Federal Ministry of Commerce stated that Pakistan's exports increased by 1.7 billion dollars from September 2023 to January 2024.
According to officials of the Ministry of Commerce, domestic exports suffered a setback in July-August 2023 on annual basis after which the caretaker government increased exports on annual basis every month.
The officials of the Ministry of Commerce added that earlier in September 2022, exports were settled at $2.44 billion and in September 2023, exports increased to 2.47 billion dollars.
While in October 2022, exports were of $2.37 billion and in October 2023, exports increased to 2.69 billion dollars. In November 2022, exports were 2.39 billion dollars, which increased to $2.57 billion in November 2023.
According to the authorities, domestic exports in December 2022 were $2.31 billion, which remained 2.81 billion dollars in December 2023, thus exports were $2.19 billion in January 2023, which increased to settle at 2.78 billion dollars in January 2024.
Officials said exports increased by around $600 million in January on a year-on-year basis.
Moreover, the officials of the Ministry of Commerce say that efforts are underway to supply electricity to the textile sector at a tariff of 09 cents, which will further increase domestic exports.
