Poliovirus in environmental samples of Balochistan, Peshawar

Peshawar: The polio virus was detected in the environmental samples in Balochistan and Peshawar from across the border.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, polio virus has been confirmed in two environmental samples from two districts of the country.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said that polio virus was confirmed in a sample from Sabi district of Balochistan and Peshawar district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The spokesman added that the virus found in the samples is from across the border. A nationwide polio campaign is being organized from February 26, the parents should make it mandatory for children to be vaccinated against polio.
