New Delhi: In a tragic incident, 11 people died after a fire broke out in a paint factory in India and the building collapsed.

A fire broke out in a paint factory located in Alipur, the northern region of the Indian capital, New Delhi, which immediately engulfed the entire building.

Fire brigade officials said that as soon as the fire was reported in the factory, the fire brigade personnel along with vehicles reached the spot and took part in the cooling process.

Officials stated that the fire spread rapidly due to the explosion in the factory, which was brought under control after four-hour long operation, while the factory building also collapsed due to the explosion.

The collapse of the building caused the workers in the factory buried under the debris, while the fire caused by the intensity of the explosion engulfed the nearby houses and shops, added officials.

It has also been reported that as a result of the accident, 11 people have died and four people have been injured and shifted to a nearby hospital.

According to the authorities, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained as yet. However, rescue teams and firefighters are busy searching for people trapped in the debris and trying to find out the actual cause of the fire.
