According to the details, Justice Shakeel Ahmed heard the case.
Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) issued notices to the Inspector Generals (IG) of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the secretary of interior ministry amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Aslam Iqbal arrest.
According to the details, Justice Shakeel Ahmed heard the case. Mian Aslam Iqbal was on transit bail while the Punjab police tried to arrest him.
Aslam’s lawyer stated that the PHC gave transit bail by March 6 but when Aslam came out of the court the police chased and tried to arrest him.
He said that Aslam is still in the court and he cannot go for the session of Punjab assembly. He informed the IG not to arrest Aslam Iqbal after bail.
Justice Shakeel remarked that the IG has also some legal responsibilities. He inquired that why the IG acted against him and Punjab police created a drama here.
He said that there is legal procedure in which police can enter from one province to another. If the law will not be being followed then then this world be a disaster.
Justice warned that if the Punjab police came without permission then the action can be taken against them.
The court sought response from all the concerned official authorities by March 14.
