The Egyptian woman identified as Al Sayeda Badwi who just got lucky to beat the coronavirus is said to be the oldest woman in the Egyptian quarantine hospitals.

Badawi had been taken to the government-run Kafr Al Dawar Hospital in the Nile Delta governorate of Beheira on May 17 suffering from a high temperature, shortness of breath, and body pain.

According to the hospital management, the woman, who was born in January 1920, has recovered from the ailment amid jubilation from the staff.

She appeared healthy in group photos with the hospital staff.

Earlier, the oldest person in Egypt who contracted the virus, 106-year-old Ibrahim al-Attar has passed away from a blood clot caused by a coronavirus infection back in July 2020, his grandson Mohammed al-Attar announced.

Egypt, a country of over 100 million people, has so far registered a total of 258,407 coronavirus cases and 14,904 deaths.
