X shutdown: SHC serves contempt of court notice to PTA
It has been stated by the Court that the PTA has not presented any reasonable justification regarding the shutdown of X.


Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday issued a written order on the contempt petition in the case related to the shutdown of the social media app 'X'.
The Court issued a notice to the Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on the contempt petition.
It has been stated by the Court that the PTA has not presented any reasonable justification regarding the shutdown of X, the PTA chairman is exposing himself for contempt of court proceedings.
The court extended the ongoing injunction regarding the restoration of X and ordered the court orders to be sent to the federal government and PTA among others.
The Sindh High Court said that the Federation and the PTA sought time to submit their reply. Therefore, they should respond before the next hearing.
The petitioner said that X's service has not been restored despite court orders.
