Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to bring a package for those consumers who use electricity less than 300 units till the budget.
Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said while talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly that they are working on a package for those who consume less than 300 units of electricity. The scheme will be added in the June budget. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formed a committee, possibly the scheme will be announced before the budget.
He stated that more than 250 million families in Punjab use 300 units of electricity or less, increasing the prices of electricity and gas is related to the federal government, the prices are increasing due to the incompetence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman added that the founder of PTI Imran Khan used to say that he will commit suicide rather than taking the loan. We did not take so many loans in 70 years as he took in three and a half years.
The provincial finance minister continued to say, ‘We currently have 300 billion rupees, the economic situation of Punjab is better than other provinces, we have improved our tax system a lot. Before Shahbaz Sharif became the chief minister of Punjab, the tax system was not much satisfactory’.
He further said that they will further increase the revenue of the province, the best budget of Punjab will be seen in June. 1500 price control magistrates have been appointed to provide relief to the people.
Mujtaba also stated that the people are fed up with inflation, the government will provide relief in any case, Punjab was exploited in four years of PTI, we have to fix their incompetence.
