The Deputy Commissioner's report further states that the roads and mobile singles are shut down in the area due to which difficulties are being faced.


Peshawar: The preliminary report of the damage caused by the eruption of the four-year-old glacier of Gumla and Chapran in Naran has been compiled. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mansehra has sent the report to the Commissioner Hazara Division.
According to the report, more than 20 houses were damaged due to the eruption of the glacier at 10 o'clock at night and the damaged houses include hotels and slums.
The Deputy Commissioner's report further states that the roads and mobile singles are shut down in the area due to which difficulties are being faced. The assessment of the actual damages will be possible after the roads get operational.
Destruction by an icy glacier
It is pertinent to note that last night in Naran, a famous tourist destination of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the ice glacier caused destruction, many hotels on Naran lake road were buried under the glacier.
The incident of ice glacier falling from the mountains took place on the highway from Naran to Saif-ul-Muluk lake, several hotels were destroyed due to the snow, while the Kaghan highway was completely closed due to the glacier at different places.
The Director General (DG) Kaghan Development Authority Muhammad Shabbir Khan said that he will cooperate with the victims in Naran in every possible way, a committee has been formed to assess the damages, and he will help the affected people in their rehabilitation immediately after the restoration of the Naran road. It would be premature to say anything regarding the damages.
Deputy Director Kaghan Development Authority Balakot Amin-ul-Hasan Khan stated that there are reports of dozens of hotels destroyed in Naran, they are taking initial information in collaboration with Tehsil Administration and Finance Department.
