Islamabad: After the attack on Chinese residents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday called a high-level security meeting.
According to the details, issues related to the security of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan will be discussed in the meeting.
The meeting called by the Prime Minister will be attended by federal ministers, senior military officials and Inspector Generals (IGs).
On the other hand, the federal cabinet meeting called today has been postponed, now it will be held on March 28.
It is pertinent to note that yesterday in Bisham area of Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a suicide bomber hit a vehicle full of gunpowder with the vehicle of Chinese engineers as a result of which six people including five Chinese were killed.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Malakand, the vehicle was carrying Chinese engineers from Islamabad to Dasu camp, six people including five Chinese citizens and a woman were killed in the suicide attack.
After the incident, security forces surrounded the area and started a search operation. While the Karakoram Highway was closed for traffic between Bisham and Kohistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while strongly condemning the attack on the Chinese residents in Bisham also expressed their deep sorrow over the incident.
DIG Malakand said that the attackers rammed a car full of gunpowder with the car of Chinese passengers.
