Islamabad: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan got another relief as District and Sessions Courts Islamabad honorably discharged all the accused the in the case of illegal rally registered in Margalla police station against Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Ali Nawaz Awan and all the others.
Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas heard the case filed against founder PTI and other leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaaf for holding an illegal rally.
During the hearing, the lawyers Sardar Masroof Khan and Amna Ali appeared in the court.
The court acquitted PTI founder, Asad Umar, Ali Nawaz Awan and all other co-accused from the case.
It is pertinent to note that a case was registered in Islamabad's Margalla police station on May 6, 2023. In the case, the provisions of taking out illegal rally, interfering with government and creating disturbance of peace were included in the case.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the PTI rally at Jinnah Avenue Chowk was organized under the initiative of PTI founder and a message on social media, led by Asad Umar, Khurram Nawaz and Ali Nawaz Awan.
The FIR states that the accused reached in front of Jinnah Avenue Mehran Gate F-9 Park and blocked the way of the public and shouted slogans against the government, and incited people against the government.
According to the FIR, Section 144 was in force in Islamabad, despite being informed on the loudspeaker, the participants continued the rally by blocking the road.
Notably, yesterday the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the sentence of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and ordered their release in the Tosha Khana case.
