K-Electric has demanded an increase of Rs10.69 per unit in the basic electricity tariff
Karachi: The K-Electric, the electricity provider in Karachi, demanded a huge increase in tariff to drop electricity bombs on consumers.
K-Electric has demanded an increase of Rs10.69 per unit in the basic electricity tariff.
The current basic average tariff of K-Electric is Rs34 per unit, but K-Electric has requested to fix the basic electricity tariff at Rs44.69 per unit.
K-Electric has sought an increase in the base tariff under the seven-year multi-year tariff. The company has submitted an application to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for fixing the multi-year tariff for 2023 to 2030.
It has also requested to set transmission charges at Rs3.48, distribution charges at Rs3.84, operation and maintenance charges at Rs0.42 and retail margin at Rs0.59 per unit.
The company has requested to fix the working capital of Rs2.7 per unit in electricity tariff.
NEPRA has sought feedback from stakeholders within seven days on the request of K-Electric.
