Pakistani peacekeeping forces are playing an important role in accomplishing the mission of the United Nations peacekeeping forces with great skill and dedication


The International Day of UN Peacekeepers is being observed today to highlight role of UN peacekeeping forces for world peace.
The 2024 International Day of UN Peacekeepers' theme is “Fit for the future, building better together”.
In a statement, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said Pakistan’s contributions to UN peacekeeping are a testament to its commitment to international peace and security.
It said Pakistani peacekeepers will continue towards the uplift of local communities in troubled regions.
Pakistani peacekeeping forces are playing an important role in accomplishing the mission of the United Nations peacekeeping forces with great skill and dedication.
During UN peacekeeping missions, 171 Pakistani soldiers, including 27 officers, have sacrificed their precious lives for the restoration of global peace.
ISPR further stated that Pakistan is one of the countries that participate in peace missions the most. Currently more than 3,000 soldiers and officers are serving in peace missions in Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Cyprus, Western Sahara and Somalia.
The Public Relations Department added that since 1960, Pakistan has deployed 235,000 soldiers in 48 peacekeeping missions of the United Nations in 29 countries including almost all the continents of the world.
